Financing gender equality: a priority for official development assistance
Two months ahead of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in Seville, Feminists in Action and its partners are joining forces with around 100 organizations from nearly 50 countries to send a clear message: there is an urgent need to defend gender equality and increase funding for feminist organizations.
This fourth edition is part of a series of global conferences organized under the auspices of the United Nations, focusing on ways to finance economic development worldwide. These conferences aim to mobilize the financial resources needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in developing countries. This series of conferences, which has been running since 2002, provides a global framework for financing sustainable development.

In the current context of violent and coordinated attacks on development aid, particularly gender equality, this conference and the long process of negotiations leading up to it are crucial: they will define development financing priorities for the next ten years.
In an open letter to governments and conference stakeholders, we collectively call for:
- Not back down on gender equality, by taking a strong stance against anti-rights offensives
- Rebuild a sustainable financial architecture for feminist organizations, by strengthening and replicating mechanisms such as the FSOF, set up by the French government to finance equality effectively.
There is still time to join the mobilization. The list of signatories will be regularly updated on our website. Sign the letter via the following form.
