Feminists in Action at Women Deliver!

From July 17 to 20, the international conference on gender equality, Women Deliver, will be held in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. This sixth edition will bring together some 6,000 activists, researchers, journalists and government representatives on site, and over 200,000 participants online.

Women Deliver: an international conference to advance the rights of women and girls

Women Deliver takes place every three years. Each new edition is a decisive opportunity to make the challenges of respecting women’s rights visible, create synergies between various players, and influence public authorities to obtain feminist legislation and policies. Over the course of 4 days, a wide range of issues and topics will be addressed, including how to defend gender equality, the health, rights and well-being of girls and women, and the safety of activists.

Even today, combating violence and discrimination against women and girls is a major global challenge: 102 million women live in regions where abortion is totally forbidden, 1 in 5 women was married before her 18th birthday, 400 million women have undergone genital mutilation and 1 in 4 women is a victim of domestic violence.

Feminists in Action out in force!
